Fashion NEWS:

Katherine Hamnett's 'Project
Listen up green queens, here’s a way to give something back to the planet in style!
Designer Katharine Hamnett, famous for her cool political slogan tees, has launched an exclusive capsule collection for the Selfridges ‘Project Ocean’ Initiative, raising awareness of the potentially disastrous consequences of continued over-fishing.
A tote and towel accompany the five slogan tees in the collection and guess who’s snapped up the ‘Love’ one already? The queen of style, Ms Alexa Chung of course.

Kate returns to the high street
We haven’t met anyone who didn’t love the now Duchess of Cambridge’s lacy Alexander McQueen wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton. And with the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala celebrating the late fashion legend this weekend, McQueen is still very much the man of the moment.
However, the wife of Prince William - who clearly has her pick of A-list labels - chose to humbly wear Zara for her first appearance since the wedding.

Sarah Burton talks royal wedding dress
Princess Catherine knew she'd have all eyes on her at her wedding today, and she took the chance to support British fashion and showed off her style credentials in a lacy Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton.

With long white lace sleeves and a modest train, Kate managed to look demure yet super-chic in her stunning gown.

The designer was a mystery until today - though Sarah was spotted at the Goring Hotel yesterday, where Kate spent her last night as a single woman. McQueen has been rumoured as Kate's chosen design house for months, but it wasn't officially confirmed until she left her hotel and was seen in the Rolls Royce alongside her father on the way to Westminster Abbey.

Since the ceremony, Sarah has made a statement about her involvement and all the secrecy surrounding her appointment, saying:

"The last few months have been very exciting and an incredible experience for my team and I as we have worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of the strictest secrecy.

"Understandably, Catherine has been very keen to keep the details of her dress a secret, which is every bride's prerogative, and we gave an undertaking to keep our role confidential until the day of the wedding.

"It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress. Catherine looked absolutely stunning today, and the team at Alexander McQueen are very proud of what we have created.

"The dress was just one component of a spectacular day, and I do not think it is appropriate to comment any further beyond saying that I personally am very grateful and honoured to have been given the opportunity to work on this project, and I wish TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every good wish for the future."

Kate topped off the look with an eye-catching tiara from 1936, which she still wore as she left Buckingham Palace with William in his father's Aston Martin sporting 'L' plates and balloons!

They gave the international viewers what they wanted in the early afternoon, with not just one, but  two kisses on the balcony at the Palace, bless.

Huge congrats to Kate and Wills!
